200 Club

The 200 club is a monthly lottery that helps pay for the upkeep of the Village Hall. Numbers cost a pound each per month and are limited to a total of 200.  Currently we have sold 195 numbers and we distribute £95 in prizes every month.  Draws take place using a random number generator usually on the first Saturday of every month and are then distributed by hand around the valley to the lucky winners.

A number or numbers may be bought for £1 each to be entered in the draws that take place from November-October.  There is no limit on the numbers purchased by one person.  Numbers are usually bought in batches of 12, preferably by Standing Order, in October for a year, but if you want to buy them at other times of the year you can do so.  If you would like to participate please contact Rae Owen:  meryllrae@hotmail.com

Book Club

Do you enjoy reading but sometimes run out of ideas about what to read next?

Maybe you would like to read more but somehow you just never get around to it. Or perhaps you have just read a book that you enjoyed so much you want to tell others about it.

If so, Woodford Book Club could be just for you.

Woodford Book Club is an informal group that meets every month to discuss a wide range of books. Each month we select a book to read in advance of the next meeting, but it doesn’t matter if you don’t read it and you don’t have to come to every meeting. We’re not into scholarly analysis, and you don’t have to have an opinion on everything, but if you do have an opinion, it won’t be wrong.

Tea, coffee and possibly something stronger will be available. So if you like reading and would enjoy sharing the experience, come along!
