As part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations happening throughout the valley there will be a scarecrow competition. The themes will be “Queen” or “Royalty”. These themes are deliberately a bit vague so that you can give full rein to your creativity when making your scarecrow. There will be a bottle of bubbly for the winner! To enter all you have to do is make sure your scarecrow is up and visible from the road by the evening of Sunday 29th May. We will then drop an entry form through the doors of everyone who has put a scarecrow up. Entries will cost £2.00. The judge will be Anthony von Roretz, the Chairman of the Studio Theatre in Salisbury and the winner will be announced at the Jubilee Barn Dance the following weekend.

When putting up your scarecrow please make sure that you are not in danger from traffic when you’re doing it and that it’s not going to fall into the road or block any driver’s view.
